The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Trinidad and Tobago invites applications for the 2026 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) Graduate Program. We encourage all eligible candidates to apply and submit their applications by Feb 25 18:00, 2026.

2. Program Details
○Duration:
■1 year of Korean language study + Master’s (2 years) or Doctoral (3 years)
○Universities:
■Applicants may only apply to universities and departments listed in the "University Information" document attached to this notice.
■At least one of the three selected universities must be a Type B university from the list.
3. Eligibility
○Nationality: Must be a citizen of one of the following countries:
■Guyana, Barbados, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago
○Education Requirements:
■Master’s: Must have a Bachelor’s Degree (or be expected to graduate by July 31, 2026).
■Doctoral: Must have a Master’s Degree (or be expected to graduate by July 31, 2026).
■Applicants expecting to graduate must submit a Certificate of Expected Graduation. Failure to submit the final diploma and transcript by July 31, 2026, will result in cancellation of acceptance.
○Academic Performance:
■CGPA must meet one of the following criteria:
●An equivalent percentage score of at least 80%, or a class rank within the top 20%.
●Ranked in the top 20% of their class
●CGPA of 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, or 3.23/5.0 or higher
* CGPA: Cumulative Grade Point Average
○Age: Under 40 years old (Born after September 1, 1986).
○Health: Must be in good physical and mental health to study in Korea for the full duration of the program.
4. Application Submission
○Deadline: Feb 25, 2026 (Wednesday) 18:00 (Korea Standard Time)

○Document Authentication:
All required certificates must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs before submission.
5. Selection Schedule
○Application Submission Deadline: February 25, 2026 (Wednesday) 18:00 (KST)
*An interview may be conducted following the document screening.
○1st Round Result Announcement: March 17, 2026 Tuesday (Check Mypage on www.studyinkorea.go.kr)
*First-round successful applicants must submit all original documents to the Embassy immediately. Failure to submit the documents by the designated deadline will result in disqualification. BY 19 March)
○2nd Round Announcement: May 2026 (Published on www.studyinkorea.go.kr)
○3rd Round Announcement: June 6 2026 (Check Mypage on www.studyinkorea.go.kr)
○Final Selection Announcement: End of June 2026 (Published on www.studyinkorea.go.kr)
※ Applicants who are not selected in the first screening of the Embassy Track are eligible to apply for the University Track.*
Applicants selected in the first screening of the Embassy Track (both principal and reserve candidates) are not eligible to apply for the University Track.

7. Additional Notes
○All required certificates must be apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs.
○Documents in languages other than English or Korean must be accompanied by a certified translation and attested by the relevant authorities.
○Successful candidates will be contacted by the Embassy for consular confirmation of documents after the interview round.
○Applicants who are not selected through the Embassy Track(1st screening only) may still apply for the University Track. For more information, please refer to the GKS website.
